Photoshoot with GW Photography

Who is GW??

His name is Glen Willis, a young photographer with great drive and talent. Glen or GW, is a wonderful photographer from Oklahoma City. I met him through Myspace about a year ago, and we kept in contact until we were able to meet for the shoot. He travels a lot (Oklahoma, Paris, New York) and has many projects in hands. A true innovator of his kind.

Here is a little about his bio that I took from his myspace:

“I’m currently doing lot of work in NEWYORK CITY/CALIFORNIA/PHX,ARIZONA/DALLAS/HOUSTON.I have high demands in these areas.I wanna help help promote local talent such as: models,photographer,rapper,dj’s,producers,dancer,actors…..etc. I shot photos for rappers,R&B,dancers, groups, clothing co., and also agencies. My photography isn’t just taking pics of models, I also do commercial print,weddings,kids,family,and senior photos,Pets,and cars shows.I also do theme photography, such as modern pin-up,ghetto fashion,80’s hip hop theme to nerdy fashion,S&M..and so on.I worked with models from the ELASTIC CAFE MODELING AGENCY.Soon i will be going to school for Film directing.”

He came to NY on June 27th for the I AM..RETRO shoot. I was fortunate to do a solo shoot before the group. We were at 5 Pointz in Queensborough. Very beautiful day, we were blessed. It was nice, sunny and for the group shoot, the models were very professional and the vibe was just perfect, we got along very quick, cracking jokes and acting goofy for the shoot, which made GW’s job perfect and easy. He told me that it is not easy with groups because he has to be aware of everybody and make sure to have “THE SHOT” that he is looking for.

I had the opportunity to talk to him and he told me about his passion for photography and his speciality, the retro shoots. He has an eye for what he does and he do it very well. I am truly bless to have shot with him that day, and that is why I put him on my blog to let you know about him. I love meeting people and I believe that photographers, just like singers, are artists as well. that is why I chose to work with him, he is not in it for the money (of course you have to pay the rent), but you can feel the love and respect in his pictures.
